This semester, the Graduate School and Baylor’s Academy for Teaching and Learning are partnering to offer a series of GPS workshops focused specifically on developing graduate students’ pedagogical skills. These Practical Pedagogy workshops will be offered once a month. The first workshop entitled “Lecture for Learning” will address the most common form of university instruction. Participants will learn when it is appropriate to lecture and how to lecture in ways that facilitate learning.GPS (Graduate Pathways to Success) workshops are sponsored by Baylor University Graduate School to assist in the professional development of graduate students and graduate faculty. The ATL (Academy for Teaching and Learning) has a two-fold mission: to support and inspire a flourishing community of learning and to promote the integration of teaching, scholarship, collegiality, and service in a Christian environment.
